Team e-Invitationals

Campus Competitions held once a month

The MECC Team e-Invitationals is a team-based competition series throughout the MECC Spring and Fall Seasons 2026 and gives students the unique opportunity to collaborate and compete on a global stage in teams. Coordinated by MECC College Ambassadors, these events bring universities together in real-time to test teamwork, strategy, and Excel skills. Beyond local competition, these invitationals act as an exclusive ticket to the global stage, giving elite Varsity teams a direct path to the MECC Team Championship Quarter-Finals in Las Vegas. The strongest performers earn the chance to advance.

Competition Format

The Team e-Invitationals take place at a set time once a month from January to April in Spring Season and from August to November in Fall Season. Students compete in teams from their own classrooms while connected through a live online call, combining the excitement of school-based competition with the thrill of an international arena.

By connecting local classrooms with a global stage, the Team e-Invitationals make sure that, even though the competition is digital, the experience stays structured, collaborative, and full of school spirit.

How to Participate

To take part in the competition, students can do so only through College Ambassadors. If you are a professor or faculty member dedicated to enriching your students’ learning experiences and would like to become an ambassador yourself, visit our College Ambassador page. Following e-mail confirmation, College Ambasadors will be provided with an Instruction Guide, expanding with more detail on the information below and outlining the remaining setup steps students need to complete before the competition.

  • Preparation: Make sure your team is ready and all students have access to the competition Excel Esports Online platform. College Ambassadors will guide and support teams during the event.
  • Competition Levels: Teams compete at Junior Varsity or Varsity – pick the level that matches your team’s skills.
  • Team Setup: Standard teams have three students. Two-student teams – only allowed in special situations. Team names should follow the Instruction Guide.
  • Game Format: Each event starts with a short introduction. Gameplay is structured with 10 minutes to get familiar with the case questions and strategize with your teammates, followed by 30 minutes to solve the case.
  • Live Participation: Teams join from their classrooms via a live online call, with College Ambassadors on hand for support.
  • Other events: If a student participates in the MECC Team e-Invitational, they may still complete the following Weekend Battle cases; however, their results will not be ranked, as both competitions use the same cases
  • Qualification: Top Varsity team players get the chance to secure a spot at the MECC Team Championship Quarter-Finals in Las Vegas (Nov 30–Dec 2, 2026). Learn more on the Rules page.

Fair Play

To keep the Team e-Invitationals fair, engaging, and transparent, strong on-site support is key. College Ambassadors play a central role by confirming participation, inviting students, reserving campus spaces, and supervising all teams representing their institution during the live competition.

All team members compete together in the same room to preserve authentic collaboration and maintain the “Live Campus” atmosphere. During the game, teams are allowed – and encouraged – to use shared Excel Online files or the integrated platform chat to communicate and coordinate their strategy.
