Practice is going well. We identified a list of sample cases, and we are working through approximately two per week individually. We are meeting as a team once per week to discuss various strategies, practice communicating and assigning tasks, and become comfortable with each person's strengths. We also plan to individually participate in the March online battle and the April regional competition in Knoxville as we ramp into May.

Reviewing previous cases and walking through each of them to make sure I understand the intermediate steps. Also watched Dim's walkthroughs online to find more efficient ways to solve problems. Lucky to have great teammates, and Dr. Kelley to work through the cases and problem solve.

Trying to solve every previous case in under 30 min

Each week, the UT team is meeting to go over cases from prior MEWC and MECC events to practice and prepare for the CECC event.

Our team is preparing by going through past MEWC cases on a weekly basis. We practice as a team against teams of fellow UofA students who are pushing us to get better. We use a shared lambda file and coordinate our efforts to best solve the case at hand. We are focusing on our communication – the more talk to each other the better. The Arizona WildConCats are excited to bring the 2025 MECC title back to Tucson and we are going to start by winning at CECC in May.

Our team has been preparing through weekly practice, learning how to build Lambda functions and explore OA Robot features to solve cases more efficiently. I’ve been especially focused on working with dynamic arrays, using lets more effectively, and creating modular models that can be adapted across different levels.

We held weekly team practices and focused on building up our list of team lambas and practicing communication. We took any learning opportunities and applied it to the next practice along with individually seeking out ways to solve a case faster.

The University of Arizona team has been practicing nonstop to prepare for the Showdown at CECC. On top of that, I have done my own individual practicing and studying to be prepared for this exciting event.

The students have been working hard to prepare and are excited for the opportunity to compete against the great teams from the other schools.

In preparation for the Teams Showdown event at CECC, I’ve been dedicating time each week to refining my skills through practice problems, mock competitions, and strategy sessions with my teammates. We'll be competing in a regional competition at the University of Tennessee in early April, which will be a key opportunity to gear up for the CECC event. With each practice session, I’m focused on sharpening both speed and accuracy to perform at my best on the big stage.

I have been going to weekly meeting that our Excel Club holds. Alongside this, I have been using Excel in classes which keep my skills sharp. I have been also watching videos and tutorials about functions that I don't know much about. I am excited to compete in Arlington to showcase my preparation and skills!

We are meeting at least once a week to refine our skills through the monthly challenges and other MECC resources. We are super excited to be competing in Arlington and can't wait to see (and beat) all the other teams! In addition to the competition, we also plan to have fun in Arlington and hope the other teams can join us.

The Team is preparing by going through past cases and building lambdas that may be helpful in the competition. As part of the preparation for the competition, James McQueen launched the UTS Excel Esports and Financial Modelling Team. In the weekly sessions, James walks other students through case solutions and introduces them to techniques. It is great to see how the preparatory work for the competitions is also creating opportunities for new students to get involved in MECC.

I've been preparing for the team showdown by completing all the previous year's cases to make sure that I am at the top of my Excel game and are prepared for whatever the competition throws at us! I have been expanding my LAMDA collection and have been practicing using more modern functions like LET and Dynamic Arrays. I am super excited to compete in Texas, ignite some old rivalries and represent UTS!

As the Excel Tournament approaches, I've been sharpening my excel skills through case studies, time trials, and practice challenges that simulate real competition pressure. I'm focusing on speed, accuracy, and creative problem-solving, using functions like INDEX-MATCH, dynamic arrays and Randbetween to push my Excel abilities further. Competing in this tournament is a chance to test myself against top talent and showcase how powerful Excel can be when used well. I'm excited to bring my energy, strategy, and formulas to the table!

My best preparation is getting the basics right. I try to solve every case in multiple ways and assess the benefits of each approach. I’ve also worked on my lambda collection.
