2023 KEYBOARDING CHALLENGE (2025 version)

TASK

1. To begin, press the Start button. You will then keyboard to each Green cell to complete a task.
2. Stay on the path (any cells with values)! Each step off the path adds 10 seconds to your time.
3. When you complete all the tasks correctly, your total time will be recorded.
4. Repeat as many times as you would like to improve your time – only your best time counts!
5. Use the drop down menus below to enable task instructions and keyboard shortcut hints. The instructions and hints will slow you down, so turn them off when you are ready to go fast!
6. To improve your speed, and prevent leaving the path, it is strongly suggested that you change your settings so that the cursor does not move down when you hit enter. To do so, go to options and then advanced and uncheck “After pressing enter, move selection”
7. For shortcuts, you may have to use the Function key with F1, F2, etc. depending on your keyboard settings.
