Get ready for the ultimate Excel showdown! MECC Season 2025 culminates in the epic MECC Championships, where the world’s sharpest student Excel minds go head-to-head—both solo and in teams representing their schools. From December 1–3, the iconic HyperX Arena at Las Vegas’s Luxor Hotel will transform into the battleground for this electrifying competition. But that’s not all—the Championships are part of The Active Cell Training Camp, an immersive event packed with expert-led training and thrilling challenges, including the prestigious
Microsoft Excel World Championship (MEWC). Whether you come solo or with your school crew, you’ll have the chance to sharpen your skills, battle through the Last Chance Qualification Round, and earn your spot in both MECC and MEWC finals. Faculty members aren’t left out—they can join the fun, compete, and even qualify for MEWC. This is where the future of Excel Esports is made!

Day 1: Last Chance Qualification Round
Open to all students!
The Last Chance Qualification Round will follow the standard Excel Esports format. There is no limit on the number of participants. It will be a single, all-vs-all round.
The top 10 players from this round will advance to the individual semi-finals held the next day.
Scores from individual participants will also count towards their school’s team score. The top 3 individual scores from each school will determine the school’s total score. Four teams with the highest total scores will qualify for the next day’s semi-finals.
Day 2: Semi-Finals
Individual Semi-Finals: 64 players compete.
45 players who qualified from the September 27 Battle for the Semi-Finals and Scholarships
3 players from the Regionals Winners’ Battle
6 wild cards chosen by MECC during the season
10 from the Last Chance Qualification Round
Team Semi-Finals: 21 teams compete.
9 teams qualified during the season’s Weekend Battles by finishing as top performers
5 teams qualified through in-person Regionals by winning their respective locations
3 teams qualified by placing at the top of the season’s school ranking
4 teams qualified from the Last Chance Qualification Round
Teams consist of 3 students from each qualifying school, but the students who contributed to team qualifications do not have to be the same ones competing in the finals.
Day 3: Finals
Individual Finals: 12 players compete.
The game lasts 40 minutes with eliminations every 5 minutes until 6 players remain after 30 minutes. The final 10 minutes determine the medalists.
Team Finals: 4 teams compete.
The game lasts 30 minutes. After which the winner is announced.

The MECC Championships are part of The Active Cell Training Camp—a 3-day Excel and financial modeling experience featuring expert speakers, intensive workshops, and hands-on learning.
A valid ticket is required to participate in the MECC Championships and attend the Training Camp. This applies to both students and any accompanying faculty members.
